Our Mountain, or “Big Mountain” as the locals call it, is the highest point in Sonoma County. Located to the west of Lake Sonoma, on a clear day you can see as far as the ocean!  You can see Mout Saint Helena, the Geysers, and all of Healdsburg, Windsor and Santa Rosa. Nestled among the trees for over 100 years our rustic hunting cabin has served as a family gathering place since it was built in 1915 by our family, if only these walls could talk! With limited plumbing and even more limited privacy, this cabin will provide as a shelter and safe place for our reTreaters to gather. The same front porch where generations have shared meals and played family games together, you will find yourself doing many group activities and sharing meals.

Our hiking trails are well worn in roads that we have walked, rode and played on for centuries. Along the way you can find many plants and herbs and spot many of nature’s finest wild life. Hogs, deer, jack rabbits and squirrels are some of the friendliest animals out on the trail. Some of the maybe less friendly that we must be aware of are the Mountain Lions and Bears as we share this sacred ground with them. While no one likes a home invasion, these fierce animals are more scared of us than we are of them and we have never had a bad encounter.    While watching the sun rise or set atop Big Mountain it is not uncommon to see a bald eagle fly overhead. This is where our yoga platform sits cradled with the trees and brush, facing the glorious view. This very special platform can hold up to 15 mats; keeping our classes intimate is very important to us as we share our special place with you.

The cabin its mostly used for reTreaters to sleep, and for staff to prepare meals. We won’t be inside the cabin much at all. We have great individual and double bed options for our reTreaters.

There will be “down time” on your retreat where you will be encouraged to take a moment to yourself; perfect time to journal, read, meditate or just reflect. We have provided several areas in which you can do this. Our favorite is the back screened in porch. This reading nook serves as a great gathering place too for smaller groups.
